Investigating the direct and indirect effects of perceived corporate hypocrisy on turnover intentions

چکیده

Perceived corporate hypocrisy, a perception of corporations claiming to have virtuous character that they do not really possess, is growing concern for US businesses. The purpose this study was investigate the impact retail employees’ perceived hypocrisy (PCH) related corporations’ moral responsibility efforts on their work-related behaviors, namely turnover intentions, mediated by lack trust and poor attitude towards corporation. An online self-reported survey conducted using 520 adult employees. results revealed PCH positively impacted employee intention, participants’ in corporation as well less favorable same. Also, both relation between intention. provides implications indicates given employees are irreplaceable resources can act creators competitive advantages, it essential take initiatives align values with those or risk losing them.
